A conundrum I need your help with, a delicious vegan recipe, a delightful film recommendation and a telling reflection on old age in this week's newsletter
Loved the 'milk' photo - currently forwarding to my son in Vietnam - he comes home next week and no doubt we'll be back to 'low/no milk' fridge status! ps - I wouldn't worry about the slip in 'open emails' - I'd say its a combination of holiday season and the fact that, for many of us - we had 'sun' last Friday!
I really enjoy your posts and look forward to reading it every Friday. I love your travels, recipes, and recommendations for books and series/movies. Thank you
It's difficult not to sound too needy, but clicking on the like does make a difference, not just to me but to the visibility/discoverability of the account. Thanks for being such a fabulously stalwart Heydayer lovely Jan. x
I was taking 80 pilgrims to Lourdes (19-26 July) which included the worldwide power outage on the Friday we travelled (thankfully we had a charter flight!). I always enjoy your lovely newsletter but I must admit I always seem to be busy, so sincere apologies for not liking them each week. I can understand how that might feel. Your recommendations, recipes and lovely stories have always inspired me and I am sure will continue to do so. Thank you Diane 😊
Thanks so much Suzanne. I can't tell you how much I appreciate that. I know it sounds a bit needy, but it makes an enormous difference to me when people like or comment on one of the newsletters.
Your trip to Lourdes sounds amazing. So glad you got back safely. x
I always read but if I click through a link that takes me to your blog, I may not end up on Substack to be reminded to Like as well. I hope that makes sense! ❤️
Hello Diane, last week’s Substack was right up my street I love your book recommendations. I am always interested in good film or tv recommendations which you cover so well and we have grandchildren around the same stage so the graduation ceremony from nursery was relevant to me, I’ve recently attended one!
Oh that's all so lovely to know Frances. Thank you! Do let me know if you have any book, film or TV recommendations in return! It's such a busy and wonderful thing being lucky enough to have littlies in our lives isn't it? x
Always puts a smile on my face😀
I'm so glad :-) Thank you for taking the time to comment. x
Ps I’m making that yummy recipe for dinner this evening 😋
Let me know what you think. I really loved it!

I'm sure you're right Susan. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. And good luck keeping enough milk in the fridge when your son gets back! x

Face facts Madam - holidays, Olympics, sitting in fridge to try and keep cool.
We're all still reading and loving the content, possibly just temporarily diverted.
Facts duly faced. Feeling mightily reassured by all the kind comments. Including - as always - yours x
