Hello!
It seems my endless coughing (which is, infuriatingly, STILL going on) has somehow infected my Substack, because something is amiss and it’s not allowing me to upload any images or videos. Gah!
I’ve spent several, so far fruitless, hours on line to the platform (mostly waiting for a response, sigh…), having inched my way from a bot to ‘someone from the specialist team’ who I think isn’t another bot, but you can’t ever be fully sure, can you? Anyhoo, the upshot is that the functions still aren’t functioning.
I actually don’t have a new blog to tell you about this week - I was going to try making the newsletter, all about the Centre for Ageing Better’s new campaign Age Without Limits, and the age-positive image library they’ve created, a slightly longer read instead. But that, along with the rest of the regular Heydays newsletter content, doesn’t work without being able to share pics and videos too, so I’ve taken the executive decision to cut my losses, give up and trust I’ll have it all sorted out for next week.
It seems somehow fitting that today (Friday) is world As Young As You Feel Day a day when apparently you’re encouraged to do the things that make you feel younger - whether that’s dancing, staying out late (oooh, daring), going on a zip wire or scuba diving (more daring).
By the time I get the help I need from Substack I suspect I’ll be feeling considerably older, but I hope you have as much youth-inducing fun as possible in the coming week.
Fingers crossed normal service will be resumed next time.
See you then
Diane x
PS - the accompanying pic of me looking incongruously delighted is the only one Substack would enable me to use. I’m rather less cheerful about the situation than it suggests!
I am sorry to hear that you are still feeling under the weather.
I do hope that you will soon be feeling better. :).
hang in there dear!!
